Auditing Courses Policy
Auditing policy is applicable only to students who have arrived late at the start of each new semester to CIC.
16-week Courses | 8-week Courses | 4-week ESL Courses |
Arrive 2 weeks-1 month late
A student who is able to catch up with the work missed will be recommended to Guidance, by the teacher, to change their registration status from “Audit” to a “Credit” using the Course Status Recommendation Form. A student who is not able to catch up and perform at the required level will remain as an “Auditing Student” for the rest of the semester and attendance will be recorded daily. |
Arrive 1-2 weeks late

Arrive 2 days late
Student must remain as an auditing student and write a SLEP Test at the end of the semester. Student will receive a credit for the auditing course if being promoted to the next level based on the diagnostic test. |
Arrive after 1 month
Student must remain as an auditing student. |
Arrive after 2 weeks
Student must remain as an auditing student. |
General
- Auditing students must attend all classes.
- Auditing students will not receive a credit for the auditing course.
- Test, quizzes, and assignments may be completed at the teacher’s discretion.
- An “Auditing Student” is not allowed to write the final exam for the course.
- Students auditing an English or ESL course will be allowed to write a new SLEP Test at the end of the semester, and be promoted to a higher ESL or English course based on the result of this test.
- If a student is allowed to take a course for credit, the Academic Office will inform the Accounting Office and fees will be adjusted accordingly.
